Sequel

Sequel 11

Version: R11M10

Updates:

  • The method to retrieve a list of files by the View Builder in Viewpoint was improved to increase performance.
  • Presence of an ALIAS name in a view causes the field names to be displayed rather than column headings for derived fields.
  • REPORT command using back slashes (\) in the IFS path was not creating the PC file for TXT, RTF or HTML.
  • Running a script from SWI with a variable Default value *USER required *NOPROMPT in uppercase in order for user id to substitute.
  • RUNSCRIPT could fail when non-EXPR type variables were followed by EXPR type variables on the SETVAR.
  • RUNSCRIPT fails when some, but not all variable values are passed and fails to use the default value on the others.
  • In host mode, editing an existing object and then saving it to repository will save the user space object in the library of the original object. Previously it saved to the repository library.

Repository Mode:

  • Datasources names now support mixed-case.
  • A Script View run from Viewpoint failed to release file locks when script view results window is closed.
  • In Viewpoint repository mode, when a JDE server is prompted for Environment and Role, the server is disconnected to ensure the new credentials are used. If a user designed a view using a JDE datasource and immediately designed any other JDE view which used the same server as the original view a ‘file not found’ error was sent.
  • With versioning off, the SAVE AS option, even though you specify the same object name, you will get multiple versioned objects of the *USRSPC object.

Enhancements:

  • Connections to Oracle 12 databases are now supported.

Sequel Web Interface

Version: R10M28

Updates:

  • Sequel Web Server now defaults to 64 bit and requires a 64 bit server.
  • For Client Reports run in SWS, whenever data returned by the query contained an embedded double quote character (e.g. the inches notation ") the report would fail with the error: SQL0104-Token 2086 was not valid. Valid tokens: FOR USE SKIP WAIT WITH FETCH LIMIT ORDER UNION EXCEPT OFFSET.

Repository Mode:

  • When using a JDE datasource, customized column headings did not appear.
  • View with a nested CONCAT statement, like CONCAT(CONCAT(RTRIM(FIRSTNAME), ' ') LASTNAME) caused an unspecified error.
  • Views using SERVER syntax with a JOINed file specification followed by a comma and more file specifications gave an unspecified error.
  • Repository restriction for type *all and Principal *all does not block access.
  • The arrow buttons on the Manage Credential Windows have been reversed so they are more logical.
  • Repository objects now support a CRO report that begins with a # character.

Viewpoint 11

Version: 11.18.046

Updates:

  • The Script Designer was changed to handle command strings greater than 2000 characters (Host version 10.10/11.10 also required).

  • Gauges do not appear on a dashboard that also includes a website.
  • Dashboard that consist of nothing but text and Action Buttons display nothing when launched.
  • On the Files and Fields tab of the Viewpoint Designer, there is a "file" cell in the Fields Section that indicates what file the given field is selected from. That "file" cell is no longer editable, and will not show a dropdown list showing all files referenced in the view.
  • Once CRO has been saved, attempts to do a Print Preview or Preview Sample end in error.
  • In the View Designer, when clicking on the Files and Fields tab, User sees message box with yellow triangle alert with exclamation point, ‘Graphical Design Interface, There is a problem with the SQL and/or variables. Fix the SQL then try again.’ This error happens on a view using field sequence number from SELECT clause on the ORDER BY.
  • In the Dashboard Designer when a hidden view that returns no records, saving the dashboard deletes all other Sequel objects.
  • In repository mode should only show SWS data sources that the user has authority to use.
  • The View Designer might hang when using SERVER(*LOCALSYS) SYNTAX(*SERVER) under these conditions:

    • Using the WHERE button to go to the Expression Editor.
    • Resorting columns on the Files & Fields tab.
    • Changing column headings or edit codes/words on the Files & Fields tab.
  • In Repository Mode using Assistance Level 1, the Save Option on the Actions tab now brings you directly to save to the repository.

  • View Builder was adding CAST to grouping function unnecessarily and creating an invalid expression.
  • In Repository mode, an error ‘The data source with key {0} does not exist’ would appear if the SWS connection timed out.
