Work with Servers

The first step in creating location or user authority rules is to select the server or servers for which you want to create authority rules. Then, use the available options to define a rule for a location, user, or function.

  1. From the Network Security Main Menu, select option 1 to display the Work with Security by Server panel. (You also can display the panel by entering the LWRKSRV command on a command line.)
  2. Then choose from one of the following options:
    1. Enter "LA" (Edit Location Authority) next to the desired server to open the Work with Security by Location panel, where you can Add Location Rules. See Adding Location Rules.
    2. Enter "UA" (Edit User Authority) next to the desired server to open the Work with Security by User panel, where you can add User rules.
    3. Enter "FN" next to the desired server to see a list of functions for the server, and to edit the function location authorities and function user authorities. See Work with Security by Server/Function panel.
    4. Enter either CT (Captured Trans) or MT (Memorized Trans) next to a server to . Option CT displays the Work with Captured Transactions panel; option MT displays the Work with Memorized Transactions panel.
